Kireedom shooting over

At the cargo-loading bay at Ennore Port, where over 500 containers were parked, it was mayhem recently, and Ajith was caught in the thick of it all.

While by-standers watched anxiously, Ajith tossed aside Ajay Kumar like a bag of stale popcorn. The unit hands broke into spontaneous applause, since with the shot, the shooting of Kreedom was complete.

Produced by Sujatha Cine Arts and Adlabs, the film stars Trisha as the heroine. Music is by GV Prakash, camera is by Thiru while editing is by Anthony. Story, screenplay, and direction are by Vijay. The film is likely to be a May release.

Kireedom to release on Ajith B`day

Kireedom set for a release on 1 May coinciding with Ajith's birthday, the movie marks the return of veteran producer Balaji to the big screen.

Trisha plays Ajith's heroine, while Rajkiran plays Ajith's father in the movie.

A debutant Vijay is wielding the megaphone. He says, "Working with a seasoned actor like Ajith for my debut film is a great experience. He was very co-operative and has contributed his best. His dedication and commitment to excel in the role deserves special mention."

"G V Prakash's music is another highlight," he adds.

Billa to go on floors on April 13

Rajnikant is expected to attend the puja of Billa, which is scheduled for April 13. A remake of his film in which Rajni donned a double role with Sri Priya as his heroine, Billa went on to become a huge hit.

The remake stars Ajit and Nayantara. Namitha is also in the cast, it has been reliably learnt.

To be directed by Vishnuwardhan, whose recent hits include Arindum Ariyamalum and Pattiyal, the film is being produced by L Balaji, who has been a distributor of a number of films produced by the AVM banner.

The film will be shot extensively in Malaysia and is likely to release this year, say sources. The storyline will adhere to the original largely, but Ajit fans will not be disappointed.

Kireedom, a tale of family sentiments

Ajith's Kireedom is fast nearing completion and it will hit the screens on 1 May, coinciding with Ajith's birthday.

Featuring Trisha opposite Ajith, the movie directed by debutant AL Vijay Anand is produced by Suresh Balaji in association with Adlabs.

Buzz is that young music director GV Prakash has come up with six catchy tracks for the movie and all of them are expected to top the audio charts.

The likes of Sonu Nigam, Sadhana Sargam and Shankar Mahadevan have rendered their voices for the songs.

Interestingly, the movie is different from Ajith's recent films.

The actor has chosen to stay away from action-packed masala entertainers and has done a story with family sentiment in Kireedom.

Kireedom is the story of a brave young man who is determined to fight against all odds to fulfill his father's (a constable) dream of seeing his son become a sub-inspector.

The movie is inspired by the Malayalam hit of the same title which featured Mohanlal in the prominent role. Raj Kiran plays Ajith's father in the movie.
