The tax waiver for a Tamil film with a Tamil title from Tamil Nadu government has resulted in movies with chaste Tamil titles. Films with non-Tamil titles are quick to be altered to an authentic Tamil one. There was a talk about Ajith’s film Kreedam to be changed to Magudam as the word Kreedam has its origin in Sanskrit and Malayalam. But the committee who is responsible to confirm if a title is Tamil or not has informed the producer Suresh Balaji that he can go ahead with Kreedam.
Pleased with this news, the film had its first song recorded on Friday with playback singer Jayachandran rendering the number. The shooting for Kreedam begins at Rajamundry on December 6th. For director Vijay this will be his maiden directorial venture.

No change for Ajith film
Asin on Alps travel with Ajith couple
Asin is just back from Switzerland after finishing the shoots of Alwar. She did not come alone though. Well, don’t unleash your imagination yet.
It is just that she brought home loads of memories from the Alpine country. Now over to the petite beauty who couldn’t have enough of Switzerland.
I flew to Switzerland with Ajith, Shalini, and my father Joseph Thottumkal. The landscape of that country was simply breathtaking and Alps was a marvel by itself. The sight of Alps was simply awe-inspiring and the only thing that made me frown during the trip was for dancing in those transparent outfits during the shoots, which froze me to death, quipped Asin. We had a great time sight seeing in winches that take you above the mountains and the view was spectacular, she added on.
Now that she loves the place, did she enquire the real estate value? Well, she did not say anything of that sort. On the other hand, she left a valuable piece of information before signing off. She uttered that she found a new friend in Shalini and movies with Ajith such as Varalaru and Alwar brought those ladies together. So, she wouldn’t miss all that girly talk while on the sets, would she?

Ajith's Magudam
Ajith's next venture after Aalwar is Magudam. This movie will hit the floors on 6th December.
This movie underwent change of title recently. Earlier it was named Kireedom.
This movie, said to be based on Malayalam actor Mohanlal's classic Kireedom, will be produced by Balaji's Sujatha Cine Arts in collaboration with Mumbai's Adlabs.
Vijay, one-time associate director of Malayalam director Priyadharsan, is wielding the megaphone. Thiru will be behind the camera.
G.V. Prakash will score music. Trisha, Rajikiran and Saranya are playing vital roles.
It is to be noted that Malayalm movie Kireedom received National Award in 1989. This movie is expected to hit theatres on May 1st, 2007.
Rajini gives dinner to Ajith
Rajinikanth is always different and genuine in whatever he does.
Rajinikanth also has a way of surprising many with his spontaneity and large-heartedness.
Recently at the shoot of Sivaji, he caught the entire unit unawares as he presented them with smart winter clothing.
Of course, his munificence doesn't stop with his teammates. His general goodwill goes far and beyond.
The recent recipients of Rajini's good-natured wishes were Ajith and his wife Shalini.
The superstar was very much impressed with Ajith's new release Varalaru. Rajini had seen the movie at a special show and had conveyed his appreciation to director K S Ravikumar.
He had also spoken to Ravikumar about Ajith's splendid performance in the film.
Rajini recently invited Ajith and Shalini to his house and held a grand dinner for them.
Rajini was unstinting in his praise for Ajith. "It is great work," Rajini said of Ajith's triple role in Varalaru.
Needless to say, Ajith and Shalini were overwhelmed by Rajini's warmth.

Ajith`s Magudam!
Ajith starrer Varalaru is doing good business at the box office. In fact, in the films released during Diwali, Varalaru walks away with all the laurels. This is good news for Ajith and his fans. As they say, success is the greatest motivator and tonic for any normal human being and it has rejuvenated Ajith greatly. A string of films wait for him to get completed and Aalwar stands next in the list. Trade pundits feel that the film would be ready for winter.
Meanwhile, Kireedom which was slated to begin after Aalwar is likely to go in for a name change. Kireedom sounds more of a Malayalam name than of Tamil.
Hence to follow the latest trend of having Tamil names as film titles, Kireedom may be changed to Magudam which means crown is the synonym of Kireedam in Malayalam.

Ajith, K S Ravikumar: The hit duo to join again?
The box office success of Varalaaru seems to have left Ajith and the rest of the team in high spirits. Varalaaru, which was released on Diwali day, tops the charts and Ajith’s role in the movie is receiving accolades already for his portrayal of three different characters with ease.
Whilst on the subject, he is now shooting day in and day out for his Aalwar, which is scheduled to be released for Pongal, the next big Tamil festival after Diwali. He has already signed for Kireedom, which is produced by Suresh Balaji and will start shooting for the same after Aalwar.
In the mean time, it seems Ajith has decided upon his next movie, after Kireedom that is. The project will be produced by Ananda Pictures, L. Suresh. With Varalaaru proved as a hit, director K.S. Ravikumar was planned for the movie.
However, since K.S.R. is busy with Dasavatharam and it is uncertain if he would be able to finish Dasavatharam before the commencement of Ajith’s new movie, the director part is still under contemplation. The name of Udhayan, who directed Perarasu with Vijayakanth, is also under consideration. It seems Ajith is captivated by Udhayan’s racy presentation of the flick.
