Ajith's Mankatha completes 50!

Ajith's 50th film Mankatha, directed by Venkat Prabhu, has successfully completed a 50-day run in all the major theaters in Tamil Nadu.

Mankatha is the biggest box-office hit of 2011.

The film is also the biggest hit in Ajith's career.

Mankatha released on the maximum screens too and changed the trade practice of Tamil film business.

Director Venkat Prabhu had this to say on Facebook: mankatha 50!!! Thanks to my producer/bro/friend Durai!! To Thala for believing me Na!! And my team!!! Without u what will I do!!! (my team includes my artists and technicians)!!! Mankatha da!!!

Mankatha blockbuster hit in Kerala too

Ajith's 50th film Mankatha is proving to be a huge blockbuster in Kerala, where it has collected Rs 1.5 crore in the opening week.

Enthiran holds the Tamil collection record, having earned Rs 9 crores in 9 weeks. Other Tamil movies have not even collected 10% of Enthiran's collection in Kerala

After Enthiran, Mankatha is the only movie to have collected Rs 1 crore in its opening week in Kerala

In Telugu, Mankatha released as Gambler has turned into a huge hit and is ranked No 1 at the box office.

Mankatha audio to be released on August 10

Ajith's Mankatha album will be released on Wednesday, August 10 by Sony Music Entertainment, the global music giant.

The music tracks of the film will be available at stores across Tamil Nadu on Wednesday morning. Mankatha songs will be available at Nokia ovi store and legal internet downloads sites too.

Yuvan is said to have completed all the songs for the film. Ajith and Venkat Prabhu are happy with the outing.

Venkat Prabhu tweeted: "Six songs composed!!! Three songs recorded!!There will be a promo song!!! One club mix and a Mankatha theme music!! 9tracks!! U1 rocks!!"

The music company that normally buys all big Yuvan labels has offered Rs 1 crore for the music rights.

Ajith's 'Mankatha' starts rolling

Ajith's 'Mankatha' is currently being shot in Chennai. The film will be a style-and-substance thriller. It is set to be released on Thala Ajith's birthday May 1.

'Mankatha' is a high value production by Dhayanidhi Alagiri of Cloud Nine Movies. The film has six songs tuned by Yuvan Shankar Raja, Yuvan said: "Ajith had called me up to say that once again we should rock with the music of Mankatha. I'm taking extra care to compose for the film." This is the fourth film in the combination of Ajith and Yuvan.

The Venkat Prabhu film is going to be the 50th film of Ajith. The teaser of the film was out last month and it created a sensation.
