Ajith’s costumes in Pongal release Aalwar have been designed by Shalini. Ajit plays an attender at a hospital in the movie. For most of the movie, Ajith will be seen in the plain white uniform of the attender. Naturally the question arises about Shalini’s role, after all there is nothing much to design in a white shirts and trousers which are anyway supposed to look grimy and overused. Well, Shalini has taken care of what Ajith wears in the colorful song sequences opposite Asin. As per reports from the sets of the movie, no effort has been spared in making the songs look glittering and grand. When most of the movie has been shot within the glum environment of a hospital such songs will be needed to liven up things on screen.
When Aalwar releases for Pongal we will come to know whether Shalini really knows what suits Ajith best. She has proved herself as an actress and more recently as a badminton player, let us see how she fares as a designer.
